West African Indigenous Design Patterns as a Source of Inspiration for Contemporary Ghanaian Textile Designs

The purpose of the study was to explore possibility generating contemporary Ghanaian textile designs from indigenous West African Design Patterns. Qualitative research design adopted for study. data collection instrument observation. Purposive sampling used select five (5) patterns which could be manipulated with CorelDraw generate designs. findings revealed that selected textiles as motifs and textures. Additionally had aesthetically pleasing colour combinations in designing. concluded Africa can It is recommended designers their quest should all possible or available themes, since there a lot derived unknown.
